IBM is providing a significant enhancement to the current Remote Development Program as part of IBM global investment to increase the availability of resources for an expanding number of development partners throughout the world. As IBM continues to work to provide economical development options for this growing community, it is substantially lowering the cost of access to the Remote Development Program at the IBM Innovation Center, Dallas for all PartnerWorld members who qualify for mainframe server benefits.
All PartnerWorld members who qualify for mainframe server benefits are eligible to participate in the enhanced Remote Development Program. The Remote Development Program expands the breadth and quality of System z Architecture solutions and provides PartnerWorld members worldwide with a readily available and inexpensive environment in which to develop or test their applications including access to the latest software, such as IBM z/OS®, z/VM®, z/VSE®, Linux® for System z, CICS®, IMS, DB2® and WebSphere® as well as the latest hardware, such as IBM System z9 Integrated Information Processor (zIIP) and the IBM System z9 Application Assist Processor (zAAP).
On August 1, 2007, IBM will offer all PartnerWorld members who qualify for mainframe server benefits the ability to participate in the enhanced Remote Development Program at a cost substantially lower than offered previously. For example, the “Dedicated Fixed Monthly Cost Advanced z/OS V1 R8 Remote Development Program” offering, which is currently priced at US$2000/month will cost less than US$500/month. Additional cost may be incurred for additional requirements.
IBM is committed to improving the economics for development on the System z platform and we believe the changes to these programs will provide our PartnerWorld members opportunities to develop on System z hardware at a more attractive cost. The goal is to continue to provide programs to grow the System z ecosystem.
