Put the power of IBM's Smarter Planet
initiative on your Web site!
Now
you can incorporate the IBM Smarter Planet vision and innovative way
of thinking into your marketing and Web presence—by embedding
the new IBM Smarter Planet widget on your site. It’s easy, and
there’s no cost!
It’s a great way to stimulate conversations and new solution
opportunities with your clients—and to leverage your position
as an informed IBM Business Partner.
The benefits of the widget are similar to those of content syndication.
IBM will provide and maintain the content that flows automatically
through the embedded widget to your Web site. Once you’ve
set it up, it takes care of itself.
So how do you get started?
In just five simple steps you can customize this dynamic content
block to reflect the color scheme of your site, as well as resize
the widget into a shape that best fits your look and feel. You can’t
change the content within the widget, but you can place it wherever
you want to on the page—in whatever shape and color you prefer—and
then craft your company’s messaging around it.
Add the IBM Smarter Planet
widget to your Web site:
You must have the ability to edit your company's
Web site. If you do not have that capability, contact your IT
department or corporate marketing team.
Click on the "Embed" link located in the bottom
right-hand corner of the widget.
A new window will appear. The window allows you to edit the
widget's characteristics and create the code.
• Change the color and size of the widget so it matches
the specifications of your company's Web site (if necessary).
• Click the "Generate code" button. The window
below will display HTML code.
Copy the HTML code and paste it either directly into the Web
page's HTML code or an electronic document (e-mail, MS Word,
etc.) if you need to send it to a developer for implementation.
• Note: The widget code must be pasted into each page.
Once the page is published, the widget will be automatically
updated by IBM as new resources and information become available.
Once the widget is operational, you can expect
the content to be automatically updated.
